LAUNCHING OF THE PROJECT “HARNESSING UNIVERSITIES’ YOUTH FOR PEACE”
Peshawar 22nd June 2022: The minister for Higher Education Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Kamran Bangash launched a project to harness universes’ students for peace. The university student as well as faculty members will receive various training on topics like diversity management, leadership abilities, digital citizens in the context of promoting peace in the educational setups.
The Higher Education Regulatory Authority (HERA), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has signed an agreement with Community Resilience Activity – North (CRA-N) to capacitate universities’ students and faculty members to promote peace and harmony.
The project is in line with the provincial government vision and mission to engage youth in the productive activities which is essential for sustainable peace
Under the project, HERA will impart training to 300 students and 100 faculty members of universities for promoting peace and harmony in the educational setups. The project will be implemented by Higher Education Regulatory Authority with technical and financial support of Community Resilience Activity-North.
Apart from the Minister for Higher Education Mr. Kamran Khan Bangash, Mr. Shafiq Khan Afridi, MPA tribal district Khyber, the event was attended by large gathering from academia, different government officials, students, and donor agency. Vice chancellors of different universities such as Kohat University, FATA University, Gandhara University, KMU, were in also in attendance.
